Why The Trade Benefits The Warriors

Klay Thompson has missed two years now with different injuries to his lower body. The ramifications of this have been glaring over the last two years for Golden State. Steph Curry let them to the play-in this year, but did not have any type of supporting cast around him.

That is what Golden State could be looking to change. Getting Thompson back after two years is going to be the key.

Mitchell Robinson would handle the center position if he is able to stay healthy. That is something that the Warriors have not had, as they are used to winning using the three-point line. Kevin Knox II would be a throw in and would have a chance to re-start his career in a different situation.

Rotation players along with draft capital could be enough to part ways with Andrew Wiggins. Along with Kelly Oubre Jr., Wiggins has been in and out of rumors for a long time now. It seems like Golden State will not be picky about any deal involving Wiggins.

The Warriors have a contention window that is rapidly closing. They cannot continue to wait and hope that the current group figures things out. While this trade gives up a big talent in Wiggins, they would be adding two role players and draft assets that could help them improve right now.
