10. Damian Lillard is traded to a team in the Western Conference

With the Portland Trail Blazers ousted in the first round of the playoffs for the fifth time in the last seven years, the franchise knew changes needed to be made. The front office elected to move on from Terry Stotts despite the team making the playoffs in eight of his nine years with the organization. Following Stotts’ exit, there could be a shakeup to Portland’s roster this offseason.

Some may believe it’s a foregone conclusion that Damian Lillard is off-limits. However, if Lillard — who turns 31 in July — comes to his senses and realizes that his best chance to win a ring is elsewhere, he can force his way out. Instead of trading him to a team across the country, the Trail Blazers will offload Lillard to another team in the Western Conference.

9. Lonzo Ball ends up back with the Los Angeles Lakers

Entering the offseason, Lonzo Ball is a restricted free agent, meaning that the New Orleans Pelicans can match any offer that he’s given in free agency. Both sides were unable to come to an agreement during this season, and it seems inevitable that he’ll test the open market. Among the teams that make sense for Ball this offseason is his former team in the Lakers.

Los Angeles needs a capable ball-handler in their backcourt, and one that can shoot from outside. Ball has shown in the past two seasons that he’s a much-improved three-point shooter, making 37.6 percent of his outside shots in that span. While the Lakers let Dennis Schroder walk, they end up bringing back one of the players they traded to land Anthony Davis two years ago.
