Indiana Pacers Receive: F/C Jaren Jackson Jr. and Kyle Anderson

Memphis Grizzlies Receive: F T.J. Warren, C/F Myles Turner, G Aaron Holiday, 2021 first-round pick, and 2022 second-round pick (via MIA)

The Memphis Grizzlies have some intriguing young players on the roster but could benefit from a helpful reconfiguration around franchise-cornerstone Ja Morant, if possible. They will require TJ Warren and Myles Turner in this trade from the Indiana Pacers. They would also get Aaron Holiday and NBA Draft capital.

There are only two players worth this kind of haul in Memphis right now. Ja Morant is certainly not going anywhere and that means the Grizzlies would move Jaren Jackson Jr. to Indiana in this NBA trade scenario. Kyle Anderson would also be on his way to the Pacers along with Jackson Jr.

From a salary cap standpoint, the Pacers would find themselves clearing $15.0 million in spending for 2021-22 with both players being acquired playing on expiring deals. Jackson Jr. will need a contract extension soon and that will cause his cap hit to go up substantially.

Meanwhile, the Grizzlies would have Turner signed for the next two seasons and he is set to earn $17.5 million. T.J. Warren and Aaron Holiday each are entering the final year of their current deals and would need to be re-signed.

Let’s take a closer look and see how this NBA trade scenario centered around Jaren Jackson Jr. would impact the Indiana Pacers and Memphis Grizzlies.
