There are many teams in the league that would be interested in putting a package together for a player of Damian Lillard’s caliber. The New Orleans Pelicans would fall into that category. They would be able to pair Lillard with Zion Williamson in hopes of building a winner in a difficult Western Conference.

The return would not be cheap but this is why teams build assets over time. The Pelicans would essentially be taking much of what they had gained from trading Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers and using it to land a superstar scorer in Damian Lillard alongside Zion Williamson. In the NBA, it takes major starpower to win and this would be an ideal way to show Williamson they are serious about winning now.

Portland would be able to land a massive haul. It would begin with Brandon Ingram. He signed an extension with the Pelicans but the front office is not going to move Zion Williamson. Eric Bledsoe would also be in the mix along with three first-round picks and a swap.
