If Kristaps Porzingis is available, it will not be crazy to see the Heat put together a package to send to Dallas. Goran Dragic and Andre Igoudala are veteran players whose options are going to be picked up and would provide long-term salary relief for the Mavericks.
Porzingis would be able to bring another dynamic to the Heat on the offensive end of the floor. He can space the floor from the corner and play out of that spot as a cutter, or he can be a pick-and-pop threat. Both of which would be helpful for the Heat.
Defensively, Porzingis is not strong but the Miami Heat have plenty of depth to make up for it. The Eastern Conference is not strong and the Heat could be a player or two away from seriously contending for a title. Miami is in dire need of more perimeter shooting and Porzingis would be able to bring precisely that.
This will be up to the front office to look for some big moves. Pat Riley is the type of executive that knows how to build a team and persuade players to come. Kristaps Porzingis could find a new home and get his act together in Miami.
