Los Angeles Clippers Receive: G Malcolm Brogdon
Indiana Pacers Receive: G Rajon Rondo, G Patrick Beverley, LAC 2021 1st Round Pick (post-draft trade), LAC 2023 2nd Round Pick, LAC 2024 2nd Round Pick
This season, Malcolm Brogdon had one of the best years of his career, averaging 21.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists and shooting 38.8% from three-point range in 56 games. Early on in the year, Brogdon looked like he could be on his way to his first All-Star game, but he fell just short in the voting for backcourt players in the Eastern Conference.
Overall though, Brogdon had a terrific year and with him being a two-way factor, he would find a lot of success next to Kawhi Leonard and Paul George in Los Angeles. However, Indiana would need to be getting a lot of value in return and who knows if they view the Clippers’ assets as such.

To make the finances work and make this trade somewhat intriguing, the Clippers would include Patrick Beverley and Rajon Rondo in this trade with the Pacers. Both guys are known to be hard-nosed veteran guards and with the Pacers needing backcourt depth, they could get two key veterans to help them move forward.
The best thing about getting Rondo and Beverley is the fact that they are both going to be on expiring contracts and the Pacers would not be tied to them long-term. This is definitely a unique aspect of this trade because while they would be getting rid of a high-level talent in Brogdon, the Pacers would be freeing up a solid amount of money for next offseason, where a lot of big names could be free agents.
Indiana has a lot to think about this offseason in terms of their roster moving forward, which is why they could field some calls on Malcolm Brogdon in the offseason. Does this trade make sense for both the Clippers and the Pacers though?
