This trade between two playoff teams could change the way both sides look next NBA season. The Boston Celtics underachieved this year while the Charlotte Hornets got to the postseason earlier than expected. In the offseason, these two Eastern Conference foes could get together to make a deal.

Boston has been in need of some help in the frontcourt since last year. They decided not to make any changes in the offseason aside from signing Tristan Thompson in NBA free agency. This move has been extremely underwhelming and is one that has not improved the unit. This is a reason why the Celtics had they disappointing regular season and are in the midst of a first-round series against the Brooklyn Nets.

For the Hornets, they exceeded expectations and were a part of the play in a tournament this year. Charlotte approved their backwards when they drafted LaMelo Ball with a third-overall pick in 2020.

The Hornets were strong at the guard position but struggle down low. Cody Zeller will be a free agent in the summer and will not be re-signing with the team. This means Charlotte could look for a veteran big man to take over and lead the unit in the post.
