Does this trade make sense for the Orlando Magic?
The Orlando Magic would finally deal away Mo Bamba for a good return offer without having to package him with a significantly better player. While trading away Nikola Vucevic would create the assumption that Bamba will get a lot of opportunity, Wendell Carter Jr. landed in Orlando and is a better option long-term.

The Magic would be receiving Sacramento’s Marvin Bagley III in this hypothetical trade, who could benefit from a change of scenery. However, going to a team that already has a big man in Carter Jr. may not be the answer, either, unless the Kings is more sold on Bagley III.
Marvin Bagley III is unhappy in Sacramento due to the way he is being used, and Orlando’s lack of reliable big men who can shoot could allow Bagley III with an opportunity to mold into an NBA All-Star talent with the team.
Marvin Bagley III, in 2020-21, averaged 14.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.0 assist while shooting 50.4 percent from the floor and 34.3 percent from beyond the arc. He would be an immediate upgrade over Mo Bamba from an offensive standpoint.
