This trade, pending an approval from point guard Lonzo Ball, could make a lot of sense for both of these teams. The Pelicans would benefit from being able to get some return value from a player who is pretty obviously not going to be returning to the team in Mitchell Robinson while the Knicks would thrive with a true point guard in Lonzo Ball to stabilize their starting five.

This trade would benefit each team in their own respective rights and it could make a lot of sense. The obvious kicker of this deal coming to fruition would be Lonzo Ball agreeing to sign and be traded to the Knicks rather than just signing with a different team in the offseason; but if he could get a pretty penny to do so then he could be on board.
