Philadelphia 76ers use their size to their advantage

One of the biggest advantages the Philadelphia 76ers have over the Washington Wizards is size and this is going to show early on in this series. Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Dwight Howard and Tobias Harris all stand 6’8” or above and are going to cause headaches for the Wizards on the interior.

Everytime Embiid gets the ball, I am expecting that the Wizards are going to look to double-team him and get the ball out of his hands, but that will leave plenty of opportunities for Harris and Simmons to dive towards the basket for an easy layup.

With Deni Avdija being out for the remainder of the season with a leg injury, the Wizards have shortened their rotation and have moved Bradley Beal to the small-forward position, making them very small in their starting five.

They do have three tall centers in Daniel Gafford, Alex Len and Robin Lopez, but outside of them, the Wizards do not really have anybody that will be able to handle the size that Philadelphia has.

Daniel Gafford is going to have to be huge in this series and is really the Wizards’ only center that has a chance to be effective given his athleticism, but at the end of the day, Philadelphia is going to control the boards and get plenty of scoring opportunities in the paint given their size advantage.
