Phoenix would not be a top team in the Western Conference or in the league
Everywhere Chris Paul has gone in his Hall-of-Fame career, he has not only found personal success, but he has increased the win percentage of every team he has been on. He did so with the Clippers, he did so with the Rockets, he did so with the Thunder and now, he is doing the same with the Phoenix Suns.

Last year, the Suns finished with a 34-39 record, coming up just short of making the playoffs. Without Chris Paul, they would have still been a fringe playoff team, but with him, they are a legitimate title contender who earned homecourt advantage for much of the playoffs.
Phoenix currently finds themselves one game back from the Utah Jazz for the 1-seed in the Western Conference and right now, they currently hold the second-best record in the entire league! Without Chris Paul, they would not only have a chance to win the Western Conference regular season title for the first time since the 2004-05 season, but they would definitely not be championship contenders!
Chris Paul coming to the Suns has not only changed their franchise’s history now and in the future, but this move has also had a huge impact on him near the end of his career. While he may not be having the best year of his career statistically speaking, Paul is having arguably his best season yet being a true leader.
He is the heart-and-soul of this year’s Suns team and this is “his” team. Devin Booker may be the star player and DeAndre Ayton the young, rising star, but this is Chris Paul’s team and they go as far as he is able to take them. Without Chris Paul, the Suns would have had yet another year where they are on the cusp of making the playoffs, but probably would have come up short.
