Does this trade make sense for the Golden State Warriors?

Keeping James Wiseman is a no-brainer move for the Warriors when it comes to trade rumors, but swapping him for Christian Wood puts the Warriors in a very unique situation. Who knows what Bob Myers would do if the Rockets offered this trade to Golden State, but Wood could definitely help the Warriors potentially win another championship.

Stephen Curry is now 33-years-old and both Draymond Green and Klay Thompson are 31-years-old. Who knows how many years all three of these presumably Hall-of-Famers have left in their careers, but the Warriors need to and want to maximize their championship potential.

As a result, swapping Wiseman for Wood could make too much sense for the Warriors to pass up on. James Wiseman is going to be a terrific player in the future, but the Warriors do not have time to sit around and wait for him to be great if they want to win another title with Steph, Klay and Draymond.

Christian Wood is ready to contribute to a contending team now and with everyone hopefully healthy for the Warriors next season, there is no reason why they cannot be a contender, especially with Stephen Curry playing the best basketball of his career.

Ultimately, the Warriors will likely hold onto James Wiseman in the offseason, but this trade proposal is definitely not as crazy as it may seem at first glance.
