Ranking 3 best fits for Washington Wizards in 2021 NBA Draft

Davion Mitchell

Davion Mitchell completely took his draft stock to the next level during the NCAA Tournament. He was one of the catalysts for a Baylor team that won a national title. Mitchell is all of a sudden a player expected to go in the top seven or eight in the draft. This is where Washington could be picking and looking for their next franchise point guard.

Russell Westbrook is putting up great individual numbers but he does not fit into the future plan for the Wizards. Westbrook needs to be sent to a contender where he belongs. If Washington makes a deal involving either Westbrook or Beal, they could be looking for a replacement. Mitchell is a realistic option and one that could produce right away.

Davion Mitchell might be the best on-ball defender in the draft. He showed his passing ability during the tournament run for the Bears. Mitchell can also create his own show in the midrange or get to the basket. He is an NBA-ready player and could be a starting point guard right away.

The fit for Washington is extremely strong. It will be hard for them to pass up on Davion Mitchell if he falls into their lap during the 2021 NBA Draft.
