Atlanta Hawks are finally closing out games instead of settling in the fourth quarter
Early on in the 2020-21 NBA season, the Atlanta Hawks were notorious for blowing leads in the fourth quarter of games, and of their 20 losses before the All-Star break, the Hawks wound up losing nine games in which they led going into the fourth quarter.
Now, since the All-Star break, the Hawks have only blown two fourth quarter leads and have come back in the fourth quarter to win six games after trailing entering the fourth quarter! The turnaround this team has made in terms of finishing games has been quite remarkable and interim head coach Nate McMillan deserves a ton of credit.
Since he took over as acting head coach, this team has looked so much better in terms of both offensive and defensive efficiency and overall, it seems like the morale of this team is higher than it has ever been.
