Jae’Sean Tate – Houston Rockets
After playing overseas in Australia last season, Jae’Sean Tate was given a chance to prove his worth in the NBA with the Houston Rockets this season and now, he finds himself as a dark-horse to win this year’s Rookie of the Year honors.
Tate has started in 46 of the 58 games he has played in and has been one of the key players for the Rockets this season given all of the injuries and roster turnaround they have gone through. In about 28.9 minutes per game, the fourth most minutes per game average by a rookie this season, Jae’Sean Tate is averaging 11.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and is shooting 52.8% from the floor.
Standing about 6’4”, Jae’Sean Tate is considered “undersized” for a modern-day wing and forward in the league, but given his aggressiveness and athletic abilities, Tate is able to challenge taller and bigger players in the league.

He’s currently 8th in scoring out of all rookies in the league this season and ranks 4th in rebounding. The Rockets found themselves a gem in Jae’Sean Tate and he should continue to be a key contributor in the Houston Rockets system for many years to come.
