Desmond Bane – Memphis Grizzlies
Desmond Bane was drafted 30th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies and entering the season, it was expected that Bane would not hold much of a role in Memphis’ rotations seeing as they had Grayson Allen, De’Anthony Melton, Tyus Jones and Dillon Brooks at the same position.
However, the rookie quickly became a key part of the Grizzlies’ rotations because of his ability to shoot from three-point range. Desmond Bane started the year 14-28 (50%) from three-point range and since then, he has been in and out of the starting lineup as a “Sixth-Man” type of wing for the Grizzlies.
On the season, Desmond Bane has averaged 9.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists and has shot 47.6% from the floor, 46.0% from three-point range. He ranks 7th in the league in three-point shooting percentage and is going to continue being a key to the Grizzlies success as they look to clinch their first postseason berth since 2017.

With not many expectations coming into the league, Bane has averaged about 22 minutes per game for the Grizzlies and has started in 12 games for them this season. Not only is he a key role player for them, but Desmond Bane is the epitome of a “3-and-D” wing in today’s league.
