No. 2. Zion Williamson – New Orleans Pelicans
From the second that the New Orleans Pelicans drafted Zion Williamson first overall in 2019, everybody knew that this kid was going to be special. While he only played 24 games during his rookie season last year due to a knee injury, Zion has played in almost every game for the Pelicans this season and has been one of the most dominant players in the league.
Williamson is setting records left and right for scoring and offensively efficiency at his position and is one of the top finishers statistically of all-time right now in the paint! On the season, Zion Williamson is averaging 26.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists and is shooting 61.5% from the floor.
Not only does he lead the Pelicans in scoring this season, but Zion Williamson ranks only behind Giannis Antetokounmpo in scoring at his position league-wide this season. Given his size and athleticism, it is almost impossible to stop Williamson in the low-post or on the drive and there has never really been a player like him in the league.

It is not a matter of “if” Zion Williamson will be the best player in the league and win the league MVP award, it is just a matter of “when” will he take this mantle?
Both Zion Williamson and the next player we are going to talk about are interchangeable in terms of being the top player 25-years-old or younger in the league and they are both going to be top players in this league in the very near future, if they already are not!
