Why This Trade Would Benefit The Detroit Pistons
The Detroit Pistons have already done a bit of house cleaning this year. It can be chalked up as a development year for some of their younger players.
Saddiq Bey has looked promising while Killian Hayes has played just 12 games because of an injury. Detroit is hoping that he turns into the point guard of the future. Grant was the big signing in free agency for the Pistons but his stay could be short-lived.
Grant signed a three-year deal worth $63 million in the offseason. He came in and immediately took over for the Pistons and his value has shot up tremendously. The Pistons could look to take advantage of that value and send him away in a trade. Detroit is not close to competing and Jerami Grant is not a piece for the future.
At the end of the year, he will have two left on his contract. The rebuild will be much longer when looking at the position the Pistons are currently in. It would benefit the team to add some prospects and draft capital in a trade.

The Pistons sent away Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose and now Jerami Grant is next. They do not have many other trade pieces so if they want to make anymore moves, this could be it.
