The New York Knicks seem to be linked to most big-name free agents but are never able to land one. This is something the team is in desperate need of. New York stayed put at the NBA trade deadline and fed the same nonsense that they always do.
Tom Thibodeau and the front office said they were happy with the position they were in. The Knicks need a star if they want to be anything but mediocre.
Knicks fans are happy to see a competitive basketball team and rightfully so. Regardless of their success compared to other years, the Knicks are still a mediocre team. They are made up of ole players with some talent like Julius Randle and R.J. Barrett. This is a team that needs a star presence to take them to the next level.
This is where Kyle Lowry could come into play and like Chicago, he could change the culture of the Knicks. Thibodeau has the team playing defense and this has led them to some victories. New York has lost a ton of close games this season and it is because they do not have that finisher at the end.

The Knicks are desperate for a good basketball team. This is the best team they have had in half a decade but it is nothing to get too excited over. Add a star in the offseason and see how quickly the Knicks would rise up the standings.
