Brooklyn Nets: Rhythm
Entering the season, the Brooklyn Nets were picked by many to be this year’s champions with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, but then in January, the Nets became the “team to beat” in many’s eyes due to the fact that they acquired former league MVP James Harden. Now, the Nets have James Harden, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, forming one of the league’s greatest trios in terms of production.
On paper, it is easy to say the Nets will win a championship given all of their talent, but all three of these guys have not really played on the court together much this season.
Kyrie has been in and out of the lineup due to several different reasons personally throughout the season, KD recently return to the lineup after being out since February 13th with a hamstring injury, and James Harden has missed six of the Nets’ last seven games with a hamstring injury and is expected to be out a couple more weeks.
In total, these guys have only played in seven games together this season, which is more of a big deal than many think. Chemistry is a huge deal to any championship team and while I am sure all of these guys are comfortable playing with one another, they have barely played together this season!

With them all being injured or out due to personal reasons, the Nets’ chemistry is very unknown at this point, which is definitely a cause for concern and as a result, makes this their greatest weakness.
Getting their rhythm together before the playoffs and developing this chemistry is going to be extremely important because you cannot just go into the playoffs hoping everything is going to work out with a team that has barely played together. The Nets are still one of the favorites to win the title this year and should be, but the fact that all three of their superstars have only played seven games together this year is definitely concerning.
