Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Washington Wizards
This is a good trade for the Washington Wizards because they are able to land a franchise center who could help solidify their starting five. The Wizards don’t have as bad of a team as they look on paper, and the addition of Christian Wood could go a long way in helping them prove that.
Christian Wood has been a great story all throughout his career and he is the definition of hard work. It’s nice to see that Wood’s hard work is paying off, and a trip to Washington could give him to long term franchise he’s been longing for.
Wood, this season, has averaged 21.1 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 53.3 percent from the floor and 37.5 percent from beyond the arc for the Rockets. Christian Wood, on the same team as Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal could be an elite NBA center.

There would be no shortage of opportunities for Christian Wood to get the ball with momentum going towards the rim as a pick-and-roll partner with Beal and Westbrook. Wood would also be able to provide more interior scoring and provide balance to Washington’s half-court attack in ways they sorely lack currently.
There is a real need for the Wizards to improve defensively, especially on the interior. This is something that Christian Wood would surely be able to assist with. He has the versatility to handle defending out in space but has the length to protect the rim when players get downhill.
