Washington Wizards Receives: Christian Wood

Houston Rockets Receives: Rui Hachimura, Deni Avdija, Thomas Bryant, 2022 Round Pick (via DET), 2023 2nd Round Pick (via CHI), 2024 2nd Round Pick

This could be a great deal between both of these underwhelming rosters as both teams are in different stages. For starters, the Houston Rockets need to focus on continuing to rebuild and would benefit from trading established players for assets.

The Washington Wizards currently face the need to quickly build a winning team around Bradley Beal before he decides he no longer wants to try to turn the franchise around. This team would benefit from getting a franchise center to enhance their starting five by adding a talented contributor like Christian Wood.

The Houston Rockets would get a great haul of talent in return for Christian Wood and Rockets fans should be pleased with their newest assets. Rui Hachimura is a very promising forward who could be a gem in this trade down the road while Thomas Bryant is coming off a season-ending injury, he has shown some flashes and will be on an expiring contract.

This trade would work out well for each team and they would both be able to check some needs off their list. Let’s take a further look as to how this trade could benefit each squad down the road.
