Does this trade make sense for the Atlanta Hawks?
One of the main reasons the Atlanta Hawks could look to trade Cam Reddish in the offseason is because they made him available in trade talks at the trade deadline this year. The Hawks were interested in adding another high-level talent to pair with Trae Young and were willing to part ways with some of their young talents to do so, which is why they could look to do so again this offseason.
Swapping Reddish for Coby White though may not make the most sense for the Hawks. They definitely need to address their backcourt and figure things out around Trae Young, but overall, do they gain much value trading for White?
He is a young talent with a lot of potential to be a really solid combo guard for many years to come, but he does not really possess much upside other than being a consistent offensive threat. Defensively, White is not really impressive and is susceptible to fouling when opponents attack and expose him defensively.

Cam Reddish is an above-average defender with the length and athleticism to be a high-level defender. Not to mention, he has a really strong looking jump shot, giving him the potential to grow into a high-level three-point shooter.
He has struggled shooting from deep early on in his career, only shooting 30.9% from three-point range, but Reddish will figure things out as time goes on, he just needs to be healthy and on the court to do so. Moving on from him could be something to watch in NBA trade rumors.
However, with a healthy De’Andre Hunter, Danilo Gallinari and Bogdan Bogdanovic, the minutes for Cam Reddish in Atlanta will definitely take a hit. For this reason alone is why they could look to move him in the offseason. If Coby White is the guy they want, then yes, this trade definitely makes sense for them since they would not be giving up too much in return, but overall, the Hawks can probably do better in a trade involving Reddish.
