Norman Powell – Portland Trail Blazers
Norman Powell took on a major role with the Toronto Raptors last season and was tremendous in the NBA Bubble, but the strides he made this year have made him a key free agent target for a ton of teams league wide. Powell still has one year left on his contract, but he does hold a player option for next season and it is widely expected that he will opt out since many believe he will be getting a $20M+ per year contract this offseason.
Prior to getting traded to the Blazers at the trade deadline this year, Norman Powell was one of the key players for the Toronto Raptors all season long and no matter how many times his role changed with all of the players going in and out of their lineups, his production was unchanged.
With the Raptors this season, Powell averaged 19.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and shot 43.9% from three-point range. The versatility and athleticism he brings on the wing is something many teams around the league will be looking for in NBA free agency this year, which is why he will be one of the top shooting guards/small-forwards on the market.

Much like Lonzo Ball, Norman Powell is not the type of guy that will change a franchise and put a team in championship-contention, but he is going to be a great secondary scorer for any team already having one or two established star players. The Raptors had Pascal Siakam, Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, O.G. Anunoby and Chris Boucher, yet Powell was still taking close to 14 shots per game and making about 50% of them.
He has earned every bit of the contract he is about to receive in NBA free agency and with the Portland Trail Blazers having numerous free agents to deal with this offseason, they may not have room to bring back Norman Powell after jst trading for him at the trade deadline.
