Toronto Raptors
The Raptors are one of the teams expected to make a big run at Allen in the offseason. This is because of their lack of depth in the frontcourt following this previous free-agency cycle. Toronto lost both Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol in the offseason and that has impacted the team negatively. There will be some changes made coming up for the Raptors.
Pascal Siakam is the centerpiece down low for the Raptors but his game is not that of a true center. A player like Allen would complement Siakam well and make the Raptors difficult to defend. This would cause many matchup problems for opposing defenses.
Aron Baynes has been underwhelming to this point of the season. The Raptors have been one of the top teams in the league over the last two years and it has been because of their depth and balance on both ends. That is not something they have this season and could be looking to improve.

Allen would give the team that balance moving forward as they look to build a winner once again. His paint presence on both ends is one that would help any team, but particularly one like the Raptors that has lost frontcourt talent over the last few seasons.
This is a move that shows Masai Ujiri is not happy with what has happened this season with Toronto. There are moves to be made and it will be interesting to see how the front office decides to go about the quick rebuild.
