Andre Drummond

We have mentioned that the Raptors were hit hard by their losses in the frontcourt in the offseason. Andre Drummond is the type of big man that can make up for that and then some. Nick Nurse would know how to use Drummond in the system. The fit is perfect and it could be better when thinking about the price tag Drummond would have. It seems like a win-win scenario for Toronto.

Andre Drummond and the Cleveland Cavaliers were unable to reach an agreement on a contract extension. They ultimately agreed to a buyout and Drummond signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. This had to be a reality check for Drummond when thinking about his next contract.

It is not going to look like the last one and this would work in favor of the Raptors. Andre Drummond is still a productive big man and would bring a new dynamic with Siakam on the other side.

With Cleveland this season, Andre Drummond was averaging 17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds. The concerns about his lack of scoring efficiency and dedication defensively will need to be dispelled after he returns from injury for the Lakers. If he has a successful playoff run, it could really change his reputation from skeptics.

This is a chance for the Raptors to add a former all-star big man that can compete with the rest of the bigs in the conference. This is what they need if they are planning to get back to competing right away next season. Andre Drummond could play an important role in that regard.
