Dennis Schroder
Dennis Schroder was sent to the Los Angeles Lakers prior to the start of the regular season. Los Angeles offered the point guard a four-year, $84 million contract extension and it was turned down. As of now, the two sides are far apart on a deal which means Schroder believes he will get more on the open market. This is an expensive option for Toronto but one that could be worth it.
This all depends on if Toronto wants to add another expensive piece to their backcourt. Dennis Schroder is averaging 15.1 points and 5.4 assists per game for the Lakers this season. He is a spark-plug on the defensive end and can score from anywhere on the floor.
Dennis Schroder thrives in the lane and drawing contact near the basket. He is going to be an extremely sought-after player in NBA free agency once the time comes.

With Lowry entering free agency as well, the Raptors could look to add a younger player at the position and Dennis Schroder fits the bill. The 27-year-old point guard would be the perfect replacement and one that can get the Raptors back to where they want to be.
Schroder gambled on himself by turning down the extension by the Lakers. The fact that they are far apart seems like he is going to be available once the season is complete. Ujiri could be just the man to persuade him to be the next star of the Raptors.
