Kelly Oubre Jr.
Kelly Oubre Jr. will be an unrestricted free agent once the season is complete. He was one of the biggest trade pieces for the Golden State Warriors leading up to the deadline but was not moved. Oubre Jr. is scoring 15.1 points per game and shooting 31.1% from three-point range. This makes him a strange fit for the Warriors, especially once Klay Thompson returns from injury next season.
In free agency, Oubre Jr. will draw some interest. There is no guarantee that the Warriors will bring him back once this season is complete. The Warriors are heading towards their second-straight season without a postseason appearance.
Once Thompson returns, the team will return to being contenders but some changes could be made in the offseason. For the Spurs, Oubre Jr. should be a main target. He is an athletic wing that can get to the basket and use his strength to finish with contact.

The Spurs have built a young backcourt already and Oubre Jr. can continue this trend. The Spurs need help in the frontcourt but it will be hard to turn down Oubre Jr. if his price tag is reasonable. This would especially be the case if DeMar DeRozan were to decide to depart to a team better equipped to contend right now in NBA free agency, too.
San Antonio will make some moves in the offseason so it is about finding which ones will fit in best. Oubre Jr. could end up being one of those moves that helps right away. It seems that he’s not getting along all that great with the Warriors’ locker room, so departing in NBA free agency is a realistic possibility.
