The Los Angeles Clippers are expected to be very active ahead of the NBA trade deadline. One major need that they are focusing on is the point guard position. It appears that Indiana Pacers point guard Aaron Holiday could be a potential target for the team.

According to a report from Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Holiday is one of the potential point guard targets for the Clippers at the trade deadline.

The Los Angeles Clippers have expressed interest in Pacers guard Aaron Holiday, HoopsHype has learned. He’s on their radar if they can’t acquire George Hill or Ricky Rubio on the trade market. 

Scotto also mentioned the asking price that the Pacers are looking for in order to part ways with their young point guard.

As reported by HoopsHype over the weekend, Holiday is available on the trade market if a team is willing to part with a first-round pick, league sources say.

For the Clippers, this move could make a lot of sense. Holiday has scoring potential and he can shoot the ball decently as well. However, his consistency has been a major issue with the Pacers and there is no guarantee that he will end up being the starting point guard that the team thought he could develop into.

So far this season with the Pacers in 41 games and six starts, Holiday has put up very disappointing numbers. He has averaged 6.9 points per game to go along with 1.7 assists and 1.2 rebounds. Holiday has shot 37 percent from the floor and has knocked down 33.1 percent of his three-point attempts.

At 24 years old, Aaron Holiday would be a worthy target for the Clippers. He has another year left on his contract after this season. Los Angeles would be able to develop him their way for a year and a half and then make a decision on his future.

Expect to hear Holiday’s name come up in a few more rumors before the trade deadline comes and goes. The Clippers make perfect sense as a potential landing spot.
