Avery Bradley – Miami Heat

Avery Bradley is likely the best guard target that the Bucks could potentially land at the NBA trade deadline this year because he is affordable and is a fantastic perimeter defender. While he has not played much with the Heat this season due to injuries and COVID-19 protocols, the veteran guard was one of the more sought out veteran free agent targets this past offseason and is easily a player that can make a difference for a playoff contending team.

Perimeter defense is one of the main areas this Bucks team focuses on and Avery Bradley has always been known to be a great perimeter defender over the course of his career. The veteran guard is now in his 11th season in the league and is an excellent “3-and-D” option for Mikwaukee to add to their championship-caliber roster.

Over the course of his career, Avery Bradley has averaged 11.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.0 steals and has shot 36.5% from three-point range. Likely not to see more than 20 minutes per game, Bradley could definitely be a solid option for the Bucks to turn to in a rotation or two off-the-bench.

Given that they have virtually no cap space, the Bucks cannot really make a big move at the trade deadline unless they are to move Brook Lopez, which seems out of question at this point. If they make a move at all, the Bucks are expected to add more depth to their backcourt and/or on the wing, which is why Avery Bradley is in play for them.

The only question is whether or not the Heat are willing to trade Bradley, especially to a team that is contending in the same conference as them. The Heat and Bucks will likely meet at some point in the playoffs, which could be motivation for Miami to hold onto Bradley and not deal him to their conference rivals in the Bucks.
