Ben McLemore – Houston Rockets
Building off of the idea of the Los Angeles Lakers looking to add more talent on the wing with LeBron James being out; Ben McLemore would definitely be an impactful player they could target at the NBA trade deadline this week.
Now in his 8th season in the league, Ben McLemore has bounced around the league over the last handful of seasons, but is a really solid role player. Last season, he had a career-year with the Rockets and while he is only averaging about 16 minutes per game this year, he is still a very productive bench player.
In 27 games, Ben McLemore is averaging 6.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and shooting 31% from three-point range for the Rockets. This year has been a complete mess for Houston, hence why McLemore has not played much and has seen his numbers slightly decline, but he is a much better player than his stats show.
For his career, Ben McLemore is a 36% three-point shooter and could definitely impact the game on both ends of the court for the Lakers. If L.A. was to trade for him, he would likely only see 15-20 minutes per game, but with LeBron James being out, he could potentially see more and be that extra perimeter threat they need.

Ben McLemore has always been a well-respected perimeter defender and with the Lakers being a heavy defensive team, he could fit right in with their “3-and-D” philosophy they look for in some of their wing players. The Rockets are expected to “clear house” at the NBA trade deadline this year, meaning the Lakers could potentially get McLemore at a discount.
