Wayne Ellington – Detroit Pistons
The Lakers are not a strong three-point shooting team this season, ranking 22nd in the league in three-point shooting percentage, and as a result, they could utilize a veteran sharpshooter like Wayne Ellington.
Now in his 12th season, Wayne Ellington has played in 30 games for the Pistons and is currently averaging 10.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and is shooting 42.2% from three-point range. While he did sign a one-year minimum deal with Detroit this past offseason, he has seen his name pop up in numerous trade rumors since the Pistons are not going to make the playoffs this year.
With Kentavious Caldwell-Pope already being a legit three-point threat on the wing, the Lakers could roll out a three-point heavy rotation with Wayne Ellington in the mix. Overall, trading for Ellington, especially since he is on a minimum contract, should be painless and easy for the Lakers, as they would likely have to give up one or two second-round picks for him.
With LeBron James out, there are minutes to be filled and with the Lakers not having many productive offensive weapons they can turn to, the addition of Wayne Ellington could be huge for them right now.

Kyle Kuzma, Talen-Horton Tucker and Alex Caruso are all expected to play bigger roles with the Lakers’ stars being injured, but this leaves the Lakers with virtually no bench depth, which is another reason why at a low price, Wayne Ellington makes a ton of sense for this team.
