Why This Trade Would Benefit The Orlando Magic

The Orlando Magic lost Markelle Fultz to an injury. He was finally beginning to come into his own but that was cut short when he suffered a torn ACL. This was a big blow to the team as they look to compete in a weak conference. Now that is over and the Magic could be looking to sell.

Orlando came into the season with some decisions to make. After two straight postseason berths, the Magic could have decided to buy a bit at the deadline if they were in the race.

After a strong start, the Magic had some hopes in the East but have since fallen apart. This means they could start to send some pieces away. Ricky Rubio would be a short-term option at the top of the offense. He would give them some stability and leadership at the most important position on the floor.

This is not a move that will lead the Magic towards the postseason but it is one that would give them a reliable player. Orlando will have to begin selling at some point moving forward.
