Why this trade makes sense for the New York Knicks
The New York Knicks are a really good basketball team and it should not come as a surprise to see them in the playoffs this year, but they could potentially win their first-round match-up if they were to acquire a guy like Myles Turner.
It seems like the Knicks are just one piece away from being something special and Myles Turner could absolutely be that piece. They are already one of the best defensive teams in the league and if they were to make this deal, they would have the league’s leading shot-blocker as well.
It is hard as it is to score on the New York Knicks, as they let up the least amount of points per game in the league, but now teams will have to try and score over Myles Turner, who is averaging a league-high 3.4 blocks per game this year.

Not only could Turner continue to be a defensive anchor if he was to join the Knicks, but he could elevate his game on the offensive-end of the court as well. He is averaging 13.1 points per game this season and is a career 34.9% three-point shooter, which would make him a viable target for the Knicks offensively.
With Julius Randle and R.J. Barrett drawing a lot of attention on that end of the court, Myles Turner could really thrive on second-chance opportunities from offensive-rebounds, or step out on pick-and-roll sets to knock down perimeter shots. Given the opportunity to prove himself on the offensive-end of the court, Turner could be a terrific addition for the New York Knicks as they look to snap their 7-year playoff drought.
