This Pistons-Sixers trade is focused on Wayne Ellington

The Philadelphia 76ers have finally taken the next step in the Eastern Conference. Now, they will have to continue this come NBA postseason time. The Sixers are currently 28-13 and at the top of the standings in the East. This is a chance for them to improve further and add a position that they could use.

This would come in the form of a three-point shooter. Wayne Ellington is being wasted in Detroit this season. They are one of the worst teams in basketball and could be looking to sell right away. Ellington has a chance to be one of their biggest possessions.

He is averaging 10.3 points per game and shooting 42.4% from three-point range on 6.4 attempts a night. The Pistons already had a bit of an overhaul with Derrick Rose and Blake Griffin off the roster. They have some other moves that could help right away and Ellington is one.

The 76ers would like to add another shooter on the perimeter. This is how they have found success this season. Joel Embiid is off to an MVP-caliber start which has been a long time coming.

In the offseason, the front office added Seth Curry and Danny Green on the perimeter. This has given Embiid and Ben Simmons some options on the outside which spaces the floor. Doc Rivers is the new head coach and the new-look 76ers have proven to be a force in the conference.

If they want this to continue, the 76ers could decide to continue to add shooters along the perimeter. Here is a deal that could land Ellington in Philly this season.
