Why This Trade Would Benefit The Sacramento Kings
Right now, Hassan Whiteside does not serve much of a purpose on a rebuilding team like Sacramento. The main benefit would be to just clear the spot by adding a saw, who is on a short term deal. The Kings would be able to shed Whiteside and point themselves in the right direction.
If Whiteside is on the market, many teams will be interested in the big man. The Kings do not have to look far if they want to find the right deal. It is unlikely that they are going to get a lot for him so they should just take what they can get at this point.
It would make sense if Buddy Hield or Harrison Barnes were prioritized over Hassan Whiteside of the NBA trade deadline. At the end of the day, this is a team looking to build around the air and De’Aaron Fox and they have quite a bit of work to do. Adding a stretch-five would help in that regard.

The Kings have once again falling behind in the Western Conference which means they could be sellers of the deadline. It will be interesting to see which route the front office takes when navigating the trading block.
