This would be a simple deal because of what both sides would have to give up. It would be a simple player-for-player swap with Marc Gasol going to Sacramento in exchange for Hassan Whiteside.

This is not a blockbuster deal that the Lakers have been linked to but it would add them another piece down low that could help calm the playoffs. With Anthony Davis sidelined due to injury, it wouldn’t hurt to add an interior play finisher and shot blocker to the frontcourt.

Whiteside would fit in like Dwight Howard did last season. As for Sacramento, they are just looking to continue their rebuild and console is a low risk move for the remainder of the season.
