Does this trade make sense for the Chicago Bulls?

Overall, there is not really anything that can be said as to why this trade would make sense for the Chicago Bulls. Russell Westbrook is a really good basketball player, but pairing him up with Zach LaVine does not really make the Bulls a better team.

The reason Zach LaVine is so good this year and has been so good over the years is because he has led the Bulls offensively and has dictated things on the offensive end of the court. Taking the ball out of his hands not only would make him a worse player offensively, but it could be detrimental to this Bulls’ offense.

Not to mention, giving up two young players with a lot of potential does not make sense for the Bulls either, especially since they have been rebuilding for years now. This organization is on the cusp of making it back to the playoffs and they have a really good shot to do so this year, so why screw things up now?

It is still a possibility that the Bulls could be interested in Westbrook next offseason, but they should absolutely hold off on pursuing him now. Honestly, adding Westbrook to this team probably hurts their chances of making the playoffs this year.

While they are still far off from being a true threat in the Eastern Conference and still need to find another All-Star level talent to pair with Zach LaVine, the Bulls should stay away from Russell Westbrook. He does not bring anything to the table in terms of production for the Chicago Bulls and would make their overall roster worse after this trade, which is why this trade does not make too much sense for Chicago.
