3 under-the-radar trade targets for the San Antonio Spurs

After missing the playoffs for the first time since the 1996-97 season, the San Antonio Spurs have some major decisions to make as an organization. Both LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan are set to be free agents at the conclusion of the 2020-21 NBA season.

If the Spurs are going to move on from their aging veterans and rebuild their roster a little bit, then they need to find trade partners for these two to get some draft assets and young talent out of it.

Both LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan can still play at a high-level and should be viewed as valuable veterans around the league. As a result, the Spurs could get a valuable package of draft picks and young talent in exchange for either of these two guys, but they could also look to keep both of them and “buy” more talent at the NBA trade deadline.

The Spurs are currently in the playoff hunt in the Western Conference and have looked really solid at times when they are at full strength, so adding more role players to their roster, especially in their frontcourt could be what they look to do.
