New York Knicks Receive: Buddy Hield
Sacramento Kings Receive: Kevin Knox, Alec Burks, Elfrid Payton, 2021 1st Round Pick (via DAL)
The New York Knicks were able to build up some draft capital in deals involving Marcus Morris and of course, Kristaps Porzingis. There are some opportunities for them to include some draft picks in these deals, which is extremely valuable for rebuilding teams. Buddy Hield would fill a need at the shooting guard position.
New York would be able to send Kevin Knox to the Sacramento Kings. He was a top-10 pick of the Knicks and one that could use a change of scenery. Elfrid Payton and Alec Burks would also be on the move in this one.

Hield is signed to a substantial contract and this would be scenario where the Knicks would leverage their remaining salary cap spending room to make a mid-season addition. The Kings would be able to free up significant spending room for the future in the process.
Let’s take a closer look and see how this deal would benefit both teams right away this season.
