Why This Trade Would Benefit The New York Knicks
The New York Knicks have not had a star presence in the lineup since the days of Carmelo Anthony. This is a team that has not made the postseason since the 2012-2013 season and is desperate to get back. They are in a position half way through the season and could look to make a big deal in hopes of finally getting over the hump.
As much as people hate to admit, the league is better when the Knicks are in the postseason. Whether you love or hate them, conversation always surrounds the Knicks. They are a big-market team in the best sports’ city in the nation. This season was not supposed to play out like this for the Knicks but they have had players step up.
Julius Randle is an NBA All-Star while young players like R.J. Barrett and Immanuel Quickley are coming into their own. They seem to be just one piece away from remaining in the postseason race in a weak Eastern Conference. Buddy Hield would help their prowess from three-point range and give them another scoring option.

The Knicks have a fighting chance to take advantage of a weak conference this season. They finally have the right leadership in Thibodeau and they could continue to add dynamic players on the floor to take their rebuild to the next level.
