The Pelicans traded Jrue Holiday in the offseason and have other names on the block such as JJ Redick and Eric Bledsoe. Lonzo Ball is another name that has been mentioned in NBA trade rumors but that has been taken off the table recently.

It is likely that New Orleans makes a move to continue to build around Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram. Trading away older veterans like JJ Redick would be an ideal way to be able to do so.

In this deal, they are landing another athletic wing in Kelly Oubre Jr. His fit in Golden State is a better off because of his skill set. He would fit in with the Pelicans alongside some players that can get to the rim and score in the midrange.
