Why This Trade Would Benefit The Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards have quickly turned into one of the biggest dumpster fires in the league. In the offseason, some of their big names requested a trade and John Wall was ultimately sent to the Houston Rockets. This is the type of deal that could send the rebuild to the next level. Westbrook is having an incredible individual season and is still one of the elite point guards in the game.

This is not a deal that would land Washington assets for the future but they would get a draft pick a replacement at the point guard position. When looking at the current state of the Wizards, it is important to know which players to build around and which to send away.

Russell Westbrook has moved around recently and could be one of the names moved. Kelly Olynyk and Andre Igoudala are short-term options, which means Washington will be able to get Russell Westbrook’s salary off the books. This would help them financially moving forward.
