3. Thaddeus Young, Forward, Chicago Bulls
To help out in the front-court, it would make sense for the Lakers to consider pursuing a trade for Bulls’ veteran forward Thaddeus Young. While the Bulls still have to decide whether they want to buy or sell at the trade deadline, Young could still be available.
Young is the kind of presence that every championship contender needs to have. He is the definition of consistent on both ends of the court.
In the 30 games he has played this season, Young has come off the bench exclusively. He has averaged 12.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. Young has shot 60.9 percent from the floor, showing how efficient he has been.
If the Lakers were to acquire Young, they would be getting a two-way power forward. He isn’t a shot-blocker, but he is very good defensively. That kind of impact is something the Lakers could absolutely use come the playoffs.
