Next up, the Celtics seem like a very logical and ideal landing spot for Andre Iguodala. They have a trade exception from the Gordon Hayward sign-and-trade that could come into play in this kind of a deal.
At this point in time, the Celtics’ main weakness is that they don’t have a very deep bench. They have lost quite a few games this year due to lack of production from their second unit. Iguodala would not be the one move fix, but he could help.
Bringing in a veteran player who can defend and score when needed would be a big boost for the Celtics. Brad Stevens would also love to have a steady hand who could come in and be a “coach on the floor” to spell the starters.
If the Celtics are hoping to make an NBA Finals run this season, they need to make some roster moves. Adding Iguodala to the bench would be a good start. This is a fit that would make all the sense in the world for both sides.
