Why This Trade Would Benefit The Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets went through a complete overhaul and it began in the front office. Stephen Silas was brought in to be the head coach and they sent away their two big a superstars. John Wall was the return in the Westbrook deal while Christian Wood has been an elite signing in free agency.
It is now time to look at players that are going to benefit them down the road. PJ Tucker is in the final year of his deal and was unable to sign an extension with the team. Eric Gordon, while still productive, is a veteran player who might not fit into the future plans. This means that they could be on the move.
We have seen the Rockets be aggressive in the offseason and that is something that can continue at the NBA trade deadline. The return would be some young players that could develop in a situation that fits them better. Both Frank Ntilikina and Kevin Knox II would get extended roles in Houston.

The Rockets had chances to win when Harden was around but were unable to take that step. At some point it is time to part ways and start over. This is the point that the franchise is at and can continue with a move like this.
