Why This Trade Would Benefit The Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets made it clear that they are interested in rebuilding the roster. Russell Westbrook was sent to the Washington Wizards in exchange for John Wall while James Harden is now in Brooklyn. When you trade your two stars, it shows fans that you are going in a different direction.
For the Rockets, that direction has been down. They are off to a sluggish start the season but that was to be expected when looking at their lineup configuration. Christian Wood has been a home-run free agent signing this far and is looking like the future. Oladipo is an All-Star caliber player.
The Rockets went out and acquired them quickly after the James Harden trade so it is unknown what their intentions are. Tim Hardaway Jr. would replace Victor Oladipo on the perimeter and give the team some ability from deep.

The Rockets have a chance to move Victor Oladipo for a return. They were not get too much because he is on an expiring contract but anything is better than nothing. That is where the decision comes in because the Rockets cannot afford to let him walk in free agency.
