Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G Lou Williams, LAC 2023 2nd Round Pick

Los Angeles Clippers Receive: G Shake Milton, F Terrance Ferguson, PHI 2022 1st Round Pick (Top-10 Protected), PHI 2024 2nd Round Pick

Given the chance the Los Angeles Clippers have to win a championship and the fact that they do not have much depth, they may think twice about trading away a veteran impact player like Lou Williams, but getting a key bench player in Shake Milton and another young talent with potential like Terrance Ferguson could make a lot of sense.

Over the years, Lou Williams has been one of the best bench players in the entire NBA and not too long ago, he became the league’s all-time scorer off-the-bench. This season, Williams’ scoring numbers are down, as he is only averaging 11.3 points and shooting 42.9% from the floor, 39.4% from three-point range.

Given how great he has been over the course of his career, it would make a lot of sense for the Philadelphia 76ers to try to acquire him, but they would really have to convince the Clippers to trade him. They may even have to offer up two first-round picks, but this trade package outlined above seems to be fair compensation for how he has performed this year given his track record.

Shake Milton is a fantastic young player and could be a perfect role player to fit next to Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. This season, Milton is averaging 14.0 points, 3.0 assists and is shooting 45.2% from the floor. He has only started one game this season and is one of the better bench players on the wing in the NBA.

Getting two young talents who could make a big impact for the Clippers moving forward seems like reasonable compensation for Lou Williams, especially since they would also be getting a future first-round and second-round pick.

Los Angeles does not have many youthful talents on their roster, as they are one of the older teams in the NBA, which is another reason why holding onto Lou Williams may not make a lot of sense. With that being said, let’s take a closer look as to why both teams would want to make this trade with one another.
