The Oklahoma City Thunder own the rights to 19 first-round draft picks and 33 overall draft picks through the 2027 NBA Draft. Not only is this unheard of, but it means that the Thunder have the capability to pretty much trade for whoever they would like.

Julius Randle could absolutely be a player they look to acquire for many reasons. Not only would he fit in perfectly with their young core, since he is just 25-years old, but outside of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, this Thunder team does not have many consistent offensive weapons. Darius Bazley and Luguentz Dort have shown promise of being consistent factors offensively, but they are still growing as players.

With Randle and SGA, the Thunder would not just have two extremely talented and young players, but they would have the appeal to draw numerous All-Star level players to Oklahoma City. Since moving to Oklahoma City from Seattle and rebranding to the Thunder, this organization has had just one losing season and they have fought hard this year to keep that streak alive.

The Thunder were projected to finish near the bottom of the league this season, but so far through 25% of the season, the Thunder are very much in the playoff hunt with plenty of basketball left to play. Adding Julius Randle can not only help the Thunder potentially reach the playoffs this season, but help turn this franchise into a championship contender in the near future.
