Believe it or not, the New York Knicks actually are not that bad this NBA season. They finally have a front-office that is devoted to turning things around, they have a fantastic, underrated head coach in Tom Thibodeau and they have a lot of young players who have stepped up into bigger roles this year.
RJ Barrett, Mitchell Robinson, Elfrid Payton and Julius Randle have all improved their games this season, especially Randle. The 26-year old big man came out of nowhere this year and while he had a great season last year with the Knicks, nobody expected him to make the jump he has so far this year.
So far this season, Julius Randle has scored in double-figures in every single game for the Knicks and has recorded 14 double-doubles on the year, tied for fourth most in the league. He nearly had three triple-doubles through the first four games of the season, but had to settle with just one.
As a result of his play and his continued success through the early portion of the season, Julius Randle is definitely on track to becoming a first-time All-Star this season and someone that could be the “saving grace” of this Knicks franchise. While he has looked great this year and the Knicks absolutely love what he has done, could they potentially trade him?
It seems unlikely that the Knicks would look to move their potential All-Star big man, especially since they are in playoff contention this year, but if the right offer comes their way, it could be hard for New York to turn down the opportunity.
Let’s take a look at four teams who should pursue a trade for Knicks star forward, Julius Randle.
